Changelings in Present Day

Thankfully the beliefs in changelings fizzled out, and subsequently saved many lives.

The understanding of disabilities, medical and mental illness and access to care for rural communities helped dissipate the beliefs of changelings.

However these stories live on in modern day, typically not as horrific as the past but with the same general ideas.

William Butler Yeats wrote poetry about changelings, and the theme is still often seen in many Irish folklore stories.

The movie "The Changeling" is one major example of this ancient folklore appearing in modern day entertainment.
